Kiki Yunqi Zhang – President
Kiki Yunqi Zhang is a junior concentrating in applied mathematics-biology at Brown University. She was born and raised in Beijing, China, and graduated from Beijing No.4 High School. She plays important roles in both ChinaCare and the Chinese Student & Scholar Association, and enjoys the sisterhood of Alpha Chi Omega a lot. During her spare time, she enjoys playing badminton, dancing, guzheng, and watching movies. As the president of Brown China Summit 2014, she is thrilled to kick off the first summit this April! See you all soon in Providence!
Apple Jiani Liu – Founder
Apple Jiani Liu is a junior at Brown University double concentrating in applied mathematics-economics and East Asian studies. In high school, she wrote in her Brown application essay that one day she wants to become the bridge between China and United States. It is her ‘Chinese dream’ to enhance the communication between China, and hopefully, the rest of the world. Brown China Summit is a good opportunity for both speakers and delegates to know more about both sides. In the summit, we embrace different ideas, perspectives, values, and dreams. Looking forward to meeting everyone this April!
Andrew Yimou Li – Operations Director
Yimou is a Brown freshman. He is interested in education, applied math-economics and international relations but is yet undecided about his major. He was born in Xingtai, raised in Qinhuangdao, and went to high school in Shijiazhuang. He is proud of his hometown, Hebei. Yimou studied at UWCRCN in Flekke, Norway. Prior to working on Brown China Summit, Yimou worked as co-leader of the Living for Environment And Future Project (Norway) and was chair of Youth for Aids Awareness (Norway/South Africa). He now works in the Initiate Development for Education And Service (IDEAS) Foundation. Yimou loves badminton, ping-pong, basketball, swimming, and skiing, despite the fact that he is not very good at any of them.
Alex Mingjian He – Public Relations Director
Mingjian He is a freshman and potential concentrator in psychology at Brown University. Born in Suzhou, Jiangsu Provice, he graduated from Dulwich College International High School Program in Suzhou, after which he enrolled in Brown University. Mingjian is interested a brain and psychological knowledge a lot; apart from academic passion, he swims on a regular base and enjoys playing computer games with friends. Mingjian loves traveling and photography and is always open to new friends.
Sima Zhu – Information Technology Director
Sima Zhu is currently a first-year computer science master’s degree student at Brown University. She was born and grown up in Changchun, China. Because of her brilliant IT skills, she was selected as IT director of Brown China Summit 2014. She enjoys playing chess, traveling, and learning new swimming during her free time.
Haichun Gao – Keynote Director
Haichun Gao is a sophomore majoring in economics and sociology at Brown University. She is passionate about the intricacies of social entrepreneurship and non-profit organization. Besides being involved in Women in Business and the Alpha Chi Omega sorority at Brown, she is also the founder and president of Co-link Environmental Organization, which is an international non-profit organization dedicated to raising people’s awareness of environmental issues and promote potential solutions; the group also raises funds to support environmental causes. In her free time, she enjoys painting, playing Chinese dulcimer, tennis, and lacrosse.
Ting Xia – Education Panel Director
Ting Xia is currently a freshman at Brown University. She is undecided in her major but plans on concentrating in computer science or development studies. Prior to BCS, she worked as a fundraiser and an organizer at Sino-Japan Youth Conference 2013 (Hong Kong). Born in Japan, raised in China and went to high school in India, she loves meeting people from all socio-cultural backgrounds. In her spare time, she enjoys playing musical instruments, travelling and learning new languages.
Xi Hu – Education Panel Director
Xi Hu is currently a freshman at Brown University; she has not decided her concentration yet but would probably be concentrating in psychology. She was born and raised in Beijing, China. She joined Brown China Summit team in fall 2013 and served in the education panel. She is a mentor and a operation committee member of China Care Program. In her spare time, Xi enjoys traveling, reading, and meeting new people.
Siyu Chen – Media Panel Director
Born in Hangzhou, China, Siyu Chen is a freshman at Brown University facing the hard task of choosing between psychology and East Asian studies as her concentration and a secondary concentration in economics. In her spare time, Siyu enjoys reading, writing, and walking around aimlessly. At Brown she is currently a member of the ballroom team and a mentor in the China Care Program.
Aoying Huang – Media Panel Director
Aoying Huang was raised in the young city of Shenzhen and is currently a freshman at Brown University. She plans to double concentrate in economics and sociology. For Brown China Summit 2014, Aoying works on both the Media panel and Operations team. She is an operation committee member and mentor in Brown China Care program; moreover, she is working on a research project, European American and Chinese Immigrant Children’s Learning Beliefs and Related Socialization. In her spare time, Aoying is fond of ballet dancing, reading, and travelling.
Zhengyang Gao – Business Panel Director
Zhengyang Gao is a sophomore and an applied math-economics concentrator at Brown University. He joined the founding team of Brown China Summit in 2013 and is now the director of Business panel. He grew up in Nanjing, Jiangsu, and loves learning about finance and business issues in both China and the US, and is fond of exchanging ideas with others.
